TAMPA — About 90 minutes after a 9-year-old boy found a loaded handgun in a movie theater bathroom Sunday, sheriff’s Detective Luke Hussey realized he was missing his Glock.

Hussey, 38, who has been with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for 13 years, was off duty that day. He had gone to Muvico Centro Ybor 20, according to the Sheriff’s Office, about 3 p.m. and stopped in the bathroom before the movie. He put his Glock 26, a personal weapon, on top of a toilet paper dispenser — then forgot it and left.

Minutes later, Temple Terrace 9-year-old Zane Noland entered the same stall and saw the gun. He exited the stall and told his father, Wesley Noland, 48, who had taken Zane and his older brother, Ryan, to the theater to see Man of Steel on Father’s Day.

By the time Hussey realized he’d lost his gun, Tampa police had taken it. He called Sunday and asked for it back, police said, but was told only a detective in the firearms unit could release it.

The Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that Hussey is the subject of an administrative investigation that could result in suspension or termination.

How the hell do you forget your gun? When I wear mine, it doesn’t leave my mind for a second. That is just negligence. This cop is a liability and needs to be demoted all the way down to janitor. Although, a broom may be too much for him to handle.

DETROIT — The trial of a Detroit police officer accused of involuntary manslaughter in the death of a 7-year-old girl during a raid has ended in a hung jury.

The jury reported back shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday that it couldn’t reach a verdict even though the judge earlier in the day had asked jurors to continue deliberating the case of Officer Joseph Weekley, who was charged with felony involuntary manslaughter and careless discharge of a firearm causing death.

Family members of Aiyana Stanley-Jones began crying as the judge declared a mistrial and dismissed the jury.

Aiyana was shot in the head as the Detroit Police Department’s Special Response Team executed a search warrant for a murder suspect May 16, 2010. Weekley, 37, is accused of gross negligence resulting in Aiyana’s death during a raid at a home.

Aiyana was sleeping in the front room when police entered and she was shot.

Instead of restraining a naked man, the lazy fucking cop just kept tazing the guy over and over and over, dramatically increasing the potential for serious injury.

A man who was shot at by police in a case of mistaken identity during a frenzied manhunt for an ex-LAPD officer on a deadly rampage has filed an excessive force lawsuit against the officers involved in the shooting.

David Perdue was on his way to the beach for an early-morning surf session on Feb. 7 before work when police fired at his Honda truck without any warning, according to court documents filed in federal court in Los Angeles on Monday.

Police fired at least three bullets at Perdue’s truck before ordering him out and detaining him for an hour. He was shot at even after being cleared by other officers after they were satisfied he was not the man they were looking for, court documents said.
