An Atlanta police officer was fired Friday, two days after being charged in a collision that killed a woman and injured two others over the weekend in Fulton County.

“Today, Atlanta Police Chief George N. Turner terminated Officer Joshua Sieck’s employment with the Atlanta Police Department effective immediately,” police spokesman Sgt. Curtis Davenport said.

“The Atlanta Police Department continues to send our thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Mrs. Jacqueline Culp.”

They declined to comment further on the case.

The Fulton County police on Wednesday charged Mr. Sieck, 31, with second-degree vehicular homicide, spokeswoman Detective Melissa Parker said.

The misdemeanor charge is normally leveled against a motorist who showed a lack of due regard for other drivers, police said.
