CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. —

Embattled Morrow Police Chief Jeff Baker has pleaded guilty to drunken driving charges.

Baker was arrested in November when one of his own officers found him asleep at the wheel at the intersection of Highway 54 and Southlake Parkway. The police report said the officer found several empty beer cans in the patrol car.

Baker pleaded guilty to DUI and violating a traffic control device in Clayton County State Court on Wednesday morning. A judge sentenced him to one year probation, 150 hours of community service and a $600 fine. Prosecutors said they agreed to drop five other charges as part of the plea agreement.
